Amazon Fishing Adventure in the Peruvian Rainforest
Experience an unforgettable Amazon fishing expedition from Iquitos, designed for travelers and fishing enthusiasts who want to explore the rich aquatic life of the Amazon rainforest.
This 5-day fishing adventure takes you deep into the rivers and lagoons of the Tahuayo River Reserve, one of the most pristine and biodiverse regions in the Peruvian Amazon. Surrounded by untouched rainforest, you will have the opportunity to fish in remote lakes and rivers known for their abundant Amazonian fish species.
During your stay at Selva Wild Lodge, you will enjoy comfortable jungle accommodation while exploring the Amazon with experienced local guides. The expedition includes visits to remote fishing spots such as Bufeo Cocha and Cocha Lobo Lagoon, famous for their incredible biodiversity.
In addition to fishing, the program also includes opportunities to observe wildlife, explore the rainforest, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Amazon.
This tour is available only between July and October, when river conditions are ideal for fishing and wildlife observation.

Amazon Jungle Itinerary
Day 1
• 7:30 am – Departure by car from Iquitos to the town of Nauta (about 2 hours).
• Motorboat trip from Nauta to the village of Halder on the Yarapa River (about 3 hours).
• Breakfast served on board while enjoying the Amazon landscape.
• 30-minute walk to the community of Jerusalem, the last settlement along the Tahuayo River.
• Tour through the village to learn about its culture, traditions, and way of life.
• Motorboat ride to Selva Wild Lodge (about 20 minutes).
• Welcome reception and accommodation at the lodge surrounded by the rainforest.
• Lunch at the lodge.
• Free time to relax or take a short walk around the lodge area.
• Preparation of fishing equipment and briefing with the guide about the fishing expedition.
• Dinner at the lodge.
• Optional night exploration to observe nocturnal wildlife.
• Overnight in comfortable lodge rooms.Day 2
• Early breakfast at the lodge.
• Motorboat trip to Bufeo Cocha Lagoon (approximately 4 hours of navigation).
• Arrival and setup of the campsite.
• Lunch at the campsite surrounded by nature.
• Intensive fishing session in Bufeo Cocha, known for its diversity of Amazon fish species.
• Free time to enjoy the scenery, swim, or relax.
• Dinner at the campsite.
• Overnight camping in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.Day 3
• Early morning fishing session at sunrise.
• Breakfast at the campsite.
• Camp dismantling and return to the lodge (approximately 3 hours by boat).
• Lunch at the lodge and time to rest in hammocks or rooms.
• Afternoon boat trip to a nearby lagoon to continue fishing activities.
• Return to the lodge at sunset.
• Dinner at the lodge.
• Overnight at the lodge.Day 4
• Breakfast at the lodge.
• Motorboat trip (about 30 minutes) to the beautiful Cocha Lobo Lagoon.
• Fishing session in the lagoon and birdwatching of species such as kingfishers, herons, and hoatzins.
• Return to the lodge around midday.
• Lunch at the lodge.
• Free afternoon to relax, explore the surroundings, or fish in the Tahuayo River.
• Farewell dinner at the lodge dining area.
• Overnight at the lodge.Day 5
• Breakfast at the lodge.
• Walk back to the village of Halder (about 30 minutes) – Yarapa River.
• Walk to Jerusalem and boat navigation back toward Nauta (about 3 hours).
• Motorboat trip back to the town of Nauta.
• Transfer by car back to the city of Iquitos.
• Estimated arrival in Iquitos: 6:00 pm.
