Amazon Jungle Itinerary
Day 1
• 7:30 am – Departure by car from Iquitos to the town of Nauta (about 2 hours).
• Motorboat trip from Nauta to the village of Halder on the Yarapa River (about 3 hours).
• Breakfast served on board while enjoying the rainforest scenery.
• 30-minute walk to the community of Jerusalem, the last settlement along the Tahuayo River.
• Tour through the village to learn about its culture and traditions.
• Motorboat ride to Selva Wild Lodge (about 20 minutes).
• Welcome reception and accommodation at the lodge, surrounded by the Amazon rainforest.
• Lunch at the lodge.
• Boat excursion (about 30 minutes) to visit the majestic Lupuna tree, the largest tree in the Amazon rainforest.
• Guided jungle walk to discover medicinal plants and learn about their traditional uses.
• Return to the lodge to rest and relax.
• Dinner at the lodge.
• Brief talk with the guide about the next day’s activities.
• Night jungle exploration to discover the rainforest after dark.
• Overnight in comfortable lodge rooms.Day 2 – Day 3
• Early breakfast at the lodge.
• Motorboat trip (about 2.5 hours) to a remote location deep in the rainforest to set up camp.
• Arrival and preparation of the jungle campsite.
• Lunch at the campsite surrounded by nature.
• One-hour boat trip to Yarina Lagoon, an area rich in wildlife.
• Observation of herons and the unique Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin).
• Guided walk through primary rainforest in search of monkeys and other wildlife.
• Night exploration to observe black caimans (Melanosuchus niger) and other nocturnal species.
• Piranha fishing experience.
• Dinner at the campsite surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.
• Overnight camping in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.Day 4
• Breakfast at the campsite while enjoying the peaceful jungle atmosphere.
• Motorboat journey downstream along the Tahuayo River (approximately 6 hours).
• Entrance into the majestic Amazon River, the heart of the world’s largest rainforest.
• Arrival at the town of Tamshiyacu, where you will experience authentic Amazonian life.
• Lunch in the town.
• Public speedboat transfer to the city of Iquitos (about 1 hour).
• Estimated arrival in Iquitos: 6:00 pm.
